Stabilization with adjustable range-of-motion limitation
Bauerfeind GenuTrain S Pro is a medical support brace with side hinges that provides better stabilization of the knee joint and limits its range of motion. According to the instructions for use, it is used for mild to moderate joint instability, knee osteoarthritis, arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis, and meniscus injuries.
How the support works
The hinges on both sides of the knee guide the joint, protect against unwanted and painful movements, and can limit bending or extension when necessary. A silicone pad gently surrounds the kneecap and keeps it securely in place, while the straps around the thigh and lower leg provide a firm and secure fit.
According to Bauerfeind, the soft Train knit provides pain-relieving compression and alternating compression massage with every movement, activating the leg's stabilizing muscles, improving their coordination, promoting metabolism, and helping swelling subside.
Adjustment and materials
According to the instructions for use, bending can be limited to 30°, 60°, or 90°, and extension to 20°, using screws in the hinges. The support is anatomically pre-shaped, and both the hinges and straps can be removed.
Material composition according to the manufacturer: polyamide (PA), glass fiber (GF), copper-zinc alloy (CuZn), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-SEBS), polyurethane (PUR), elastodiene (ED), elastane (EL), viscose (CV), polyoxymethylene (POM), polyester (PES), and cotton (CO).
How to choose the size
GenuTrain S Pro is available in Titan, in seven sizes, and in separate models for the right and left knee. Measure the upper circumference 14 cm above the knee and the lower circumference 12 cm below the knee:
- Size 1: upper 38–41 cm, lower 28–31 cm
- Size 2: upper 41–44 cm, lower 31–34 cm
- Size 3: upper 44–47 cm, lower 34–37 cm
- Size 4: upper 47–50 cm, lower 37–40 cm
- Size 5: upper 50–53 cm, lower 40–43 cm
- Size 6: upper 53–56 cm, lower 43–46 cm
- Size 7: upper 56–59 cm, lower 46–49 cm

Use
Loosen all four ends of the hook-and-loop straps without pulling them out of the openings. Hold the donning loops on the sides and pull the support over the knee until the pad surrounds the kneecap without pressure - the ends of the straps will then be on the outside of the leg. Pull the straps until the stabilisation feels comfortable and fasten all four ends. To remove the support, open the straps, grasp the support at the calf and pull it downward.
Care
Remove the hook-and-loop straps and fasten them closed, then pull the hinge splints upward out of the hinge channels. Wash the support separately in a laundry bag with mild detergent at 30 °C on a delicates cycle and spin at no more than 500 rpm.
When the support is dry, insert the hinge splints from above according to the marking, with the hinges facing the back of the knee, and fasten the straps to the loops on the splints. Never expose the support to direct heat, such as radiators, sunlight or storage in a car.

One (1) knee support for the selected side with hinge splints and straps. Five screws for the hinge splints are included, one of them a spare screw.
